Lemon Drop
I don't know if they still make candy called Lemon Drops, but I remember them as a kid. This drink tastes just like it. There are a few variations of how I've seen this drink made and prepared, but I'll start you out with the basics & you can see what fits your tastes.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz. Citron Vodka
Dash of Triple sec (optional)
Lemon wedge
Sugar
Preparation:
Hand swirl over ice. Strain into a chilled cocktail, pony or shot glass.
Here is where it gets confusing and if you talk to your server, the bartender hopefully will fix it the way you prefer. Some will put a sugared piece of lemon on the side, some will sugar rim your chilled glass and put the lemon as a garnish, and I have even seen this drink with a lemon slice sugared and flamed on top of the glass. I prefer mine with a sugared lemon wedge on the side. The idea is to shoot the drink and then suck on the lemon.
